I just ordered my new pack and a couple pieces of clothing recently. Went to start going through gear specific to my Mule Deer hunt and realized that my boots had a heal starting to come off. Not something I had planned on replacing. These are the only boots I have done any western hunting with. Light, non bulky, synthetic, and mid height and I think a fairly stiff boot. I've started going through reviews and hope to try a few on next weeek. Does anyone have any suggestions for something similar?

My best suggestion is order as many as you’re comfortable with at a time from a reputable dealer with a good return policy. Then lace them up and test them on your stairs for heel rub and walk in them as much as you can INSIDE. You could also get some cheap boot covers from amazon and try them outside if you’re feeling daring.

I have super bony heels so that’s always my weak point in any boot so I always stand on stairs and drop my heels - if I feel rub or any sort of weirdness, they’re back in the box because that will just multiple by 100 in the hills.

Everyone’s foot is different so what works for me likely won’t work for you and so on so I’ll leave my suggestion rather vague.
