You will see that the filter looks pretty dirty, it belongs to a Katadyn Vario which has served me pretty well. The only complaint that I have is that it tends to leak. Katadyn has offered to replace my entire set up if I couldn't get it done. However, normal use on the filter will cost me about $43.00.
So, the question I am posing, is should I upgrade(Sawyer), or should I just get the free filter and call it a day?
