Tikka t3x recoild pad or limbsaver?

I have enjoyed shooting rifles with the limbsaver airtech. Ive just picked up a tikka t3x lite in 30-06. I know that they updated the pad from the T3 model. How does it compare to the limbsaver? should I consider swapping it out or are people feeling like the new pad gets the job done?

Shoot it and see if you want buy the limbsaver still or find the one the t3x comes with works just fine for ya. Your shoulder will be the best judge of that.

The only T3's I've held had wretched recoil pads on them. They seem like great rifles, but if I bought one, I'd take that thing off immediately and replace with something better. I'm actually in love with a foam recoil pad, from Italy, that my brother got for me. I'll try to look up the name. It's outstanding!

T3 and t3x don't have the same recoil pad. It's improved on x which is why he should shoot it first and decide

I agree with Luke, shoot it and see - I changed '06 plenty fast, to a Limbsaver AIRCELL (they still sell the original which was good but not nearly as good as the Aircell model - I've read of some who leave the factory pad on then put a brake on it (which makes no sense whatsoever to me)

I put a new limbsaver on my tikka 300 WM before shooting it. The new pad on the tikkas are better but they aren't in the same league as a limbsaver IMO. They are like $30 and worth every penny.

I just bought a new T3x in 7mm, and ordered a Limbsaver Aircell to put on it. To be fair, I haven't shot the gun yet with either recoil pad. However, just holding the two there is no comparison. The new Tikka pad may be improved over the older Tikka, but it is no where as cushy as the Limbsaver.

the engineering of the Aircell is such that it helps keep the rifle from "muzzle flip" on recoil as well - It is "funny" how something as simple as a recoil pad can be designed to accomplish so much more and Limbsaver has kept the cost within acceptable parameters as well

It really is one of the better price-to-performance ratios in the hunting/shooting world. I think I have the new Limbsaver on all of my rifles except one.

Just bought one for the wife's tikka t3x lite in 7mm08. Here in the next few weeks I'll get behind the rifle and compare the 2.

For $28 on Amazon I figured I couldnt go wrong. Maybe some rifle manufacturers will team up with them and just start sending them stock.
