Tikkas are fun to upgrade. Mine has a new stock (Stocky's, which I recently painted), new bottom metal (High Desert Research), and new action screws (can't remember who made them). I also shortened the barrel to 20" and use Talley Lightweight rings, which I like. The whole rifle is about 6.9 pounds now, with the scope. I like it a lot.

In college a young 20ish friend ran up somewhat excited one day saying she was diagnosed with schizophrenia. The first words out of my mouth was,”The voices don’t say kill your friend Taper do they?” No, smart ass it’s not like that, she said. Turns out her refrigerator talks to her as she opens it up to grab food in a cute little voice with phrases like “Oh no”, “mmm”, “yummy”, “ick.” Tripping on a rock, it would say “oops.” Her entire life she mentioned this to friends and they all thought she was just being cute, like the devil on one shoulder telling her one thing and the angel on the other saying something else.

I’d kinda like a rifle that says “good shot!” or “oh no.”

Did you texture that stock?

Yes. I used self-etching primer > Rustoleum Textured spray paint > Brownells Alumahyde II clear. It's got a nice feel now. Textured, but not gritty. Hopefully it holds up well!
