I am looking to buy 300 wsm and 6.5cm in lite or superlite. I don't see any differance in weight between the two. The only difference I see is a superlite cost around $100 more. Does the 300 wsm superlite with the green stock have 1.10 or 1.11 twist, I saw some where 1.10? Also is the superlite with the green stock barrel stainless with black finish or not? Any help to clear this up would be greatly appreciated by me and I know many others. Thank you,

300 wsm in a super lite Tikka is not going to be fun to shoot. Throw the Tikka recoil pad in the trash immediately and replace it with a limbsaver airtech. I dont know what it is about the Tikka pads that make them so uncomfortable, but even the "new and improved"T3x rubber is like a brick.

+1 for swapping out the recoil pad.

Super lite has the fluted barrel per above. They are a touch lighter as a result. 2-4oz maybe. They are also only available as “exclusives” from a couple of retailers last I knew. Cabela’s sold a camo version and sportsman’s had a black.

Apart from the weight savings, some people are fond of chopping barrels or adding threads for suppressors and brakes. I think that can be an issue with the flutes.

Tikka T3x Superlite in green stock, barrel is fluted is only difference. Per tikka if cerakoted black it’s a non stainless gun. Tikka t3x in the black stock is the standard blued gun. It’s been threaded with a break added. Both 6.5 cm. I can get better pictures if needed

You might want to hurry up and get your 6.5 CM on the deal posted the other day. I just paid over $200 more on a pass-through from a FFL dealer. I went with the lite in stainless for some of the reasons mentioned above.

I have looked at both and not seeing the 2 to 4 oz. differance.

Agree with all, just a bit of weight. adding limbsaver is good upgrade (adds 2 ounces). Recommend saving $250 and getting at sportsman’s if you can for black only and make your own camo. Unless something changed this year, superlites are only sold at sportsman’s and basspro/Cabelas (camo only for $1000)

Happy to share $10 camo recipe. Has worked great on 12 hunts thus far.

To add. Love my SL in 6.5. Can reload super long and get amazing hunting performance. 2900fps easy with 143 ELDX (a buddy getting same with same gun and different powder). Have to handload to take advantage of long throat and forgiving magazine though. Factory ammo will be about 100fps slower than advertised (143 at 2575 FPS, I believe in mine).

Someone on here weighed the two guns (or barreled actions) a while back to compare and posted the weights. Thread is at least a couple of years old and I can’t find it.

Very minor weight savings with the Super lite. If you like the looks of the fluted barrel and are willing to pay the extra price then go for it. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed in whichever route you decide to go.

Agreed. Online (advertised) specs say 0.3lbs according to sportsman’s warehouse. If I recall my SL naked weighed 6lb 1oz.

There isn’t a 1:10 twist .30 cal barrel in any Tikka or Sako product line. They are all 1:11
