Tikka T3x 7mm Rem Mag Build

Finally decided to buy a rifle that I have wanted for a while (Tikka Superlite in 7mm rem mag). Sportsmans was having a sale and I gave in! this Figure I would document this journey. As it has turned into a full build.

finally got the rifle in. Test fitted some mountain tactical bottom metal as well. This thing is LIGHT. especially compared to my 375’s.



as much as I love the factory fluted stainless barrel on this super lite, it’s going to be coming off. Let me know if anyone wants it. Found out that Proof Research has discontinued the 7mm rem mag caliber for 7prc so I snagged a mag barrel that I found in stock while I could. I’m sure I’ll catch some flak from the PRC fanboy warriors for this haha.

I went with a Carbon fiber Altitude Stock from Pure Precision. Ordered from J&A.

Thank you. I ended up going with a carbon fiber Pure precision Altitude stock. I ordered it through J&A Outdoors.

Had a seamless thread protector added to the barrel. Turned out great. Now off to Cerakote it goes! Hoping to get this thing put together next week. Fingers crossed..

Tikka barrel wasn’t too difficult to get off. Just need to make sure vise is tight and give it a few taps with a dead blow hammer until it breaks loose.

LRI did a great job on the seamless thread protector, bolt flutes and Cerakote.

Got rifle assembled and man this thing is light!!! Need to weigh it to see what it comes in at.

After testing multiple factory loads at 100 yards it seems like this rifle really likes Federal’s 168 grain Berger Hybrid load. The rifle suprising shot most my factory loads at an inch and under from 154grain up to 168grain. Second best groups were with 154grain interlocks and Federal’s ELD-X load
