Looking to put a brake on my T3 .308 to help with some of the pounding of my shoulder. This ole shoulder (college baseball rotator cuff injury finally caught up with me) has about had it and I need to take some of the recoil away or teach myself to shoot left handed which I don't want to. I have read several threads talking about the Micro bastard and a few others, however, I can't seem to find out a few details.

Did you have to cut the stock barrel back to get it to work? What threads, 1/2 or 9/16?

Solomon river solutions makes a great priced titanium 4 port brake designed for sporter barrels. They are threaded for 1/2 28

I ordered one of the brakes from muzzle brakes and more for my 300 WM, it works incredibly well! Mine is threaded 9/16x24. Very reasonably priced brake also.

Witt machine makes clamp on brakes. I friend has had 2 with great success. I'll be putting one on my 7 mag. About $80.

ETA. if your ok with the extra length.

Can you provide a link to the brake you got and maybe a pic on your rifle? I'm needing one for my 300 wsm in 9/16x24

I have a Tikka T3X Veil Wildlands in .308. It came threaded 5/8-24 from the factory, and it came with a brake. I took it off and tossed it in a box, as I never plan to use it. I run a suppressor on the rifle instead. That mitigates both sounds and recoil.

If you want to thread your .308, 5/8-24 is the most useful thread pitch if you barrel is big enough for it.
