I just finished putting mine together. It also has a 22” Proof pre fit. I’m just waiting on some headspace gauges and a scope. I’ve got a few boxes of Hornady 180gr and 175gr ammo to test once it’s ready to shoot. If it shoots anything like kickernates rifle I’ll be more than happy.
What stock is on your tikka?

Any one build a Tikka T3 7mm PRC yet? I ordered a proof barrel and muzzle break. I have an older Tikka T3 in 7mm rem mag that will soon be a 7mm PRC and trying to get some ideas on a stock. Thinking about MDT HNT 26 folding Chassis for Tikka. If you have built one show off some pictures if you do not mid.
What is needed to convert from 7 rem mag to 7 prc? I have a t3x light in 7 rem mag and want to do switch to 7 prc. Is it just a barrel and mag swap?

Did anyone happen to weigh the proof prefit barrels before they assembled their rifles? Or even have completed rifle weights? I am looking to build a 7mm prc tikka and would prefer a gun right about 7lbs to end up right at 8.5-8.75lb total weight.

Minus the bipod, mine finished in your target weight with a 22” proof barrel and a modified factory stock that includes a pic rail and adjustable cheek rest. I believe the barrel itself was 2lbs 10oz.

I’d be interested in this too. The more I see tikka’s built out the more I want one… I thought I was set on a Seekins Element but now I don’t know.

Digging up an old thread, but for those of you who used the saami freebore what COAL did you need to load the 180gr ELDM to so it would touch the lands?

For those of you doing diy Tikka build is easy as pie. Drywall tape, viper vise, external action wrench, 3 lb hammer. Last night I pulled 2 barrels in just a couple minutes and no penetrating oil. Put on the new barrels with the eBay action wrench.

That's the same way I do them, I have a mechforce vise and the same external wrench. I'm 5 for 5 thus far without issue.

Can't wait for my 7PRC Proof to come in, I bought the 22" Proof barrel and a Stocky's carbon VG for $1050 during their black friday sale. Definitely a deal I couldn't pass up.

Mine will wear the 7PRC barrel during hunting season, then revert to a 6.5CM or a 223 (I have bolts for all 3 sizes) the rest of the year depending on what hunting and target shooting is going on.
