Is a tikka t3 able to be threaded for a suppressor and if so would accuracy be decreased? If it would work I would be interested in some recommendations.
Confirm these are 1/2-28 threads and no adapters?I shoot a SiCoHarvester 30 on two different Tikka's; a 7mag and a 6.5X55, both are superlite fluted barrels. Accuracy remained excellent after threading the barrels. POI shifted ~2" low, gained a little velocity.
My advice, get a light suppressor like the Nomad-ti, Griffin Sportsman, thunderbeast or other lightweight/titanium can.
You have time to decide and shop around; You're likely not going to have it for the 2022 season. Deals can be found around the holidays.
Is that just a tapered washer on a factory barrel? This is the tapered shoulder and threading on my Tikka, by ADCO Firearms. The diameter of the shoulder is just shy of .75”
I looked at a new Christiansen at the store the other day that was threaded 1/2x28. It was a 300 win mag. I guess that's good enough?I just had a factory .308 barrel threaded 1/2x28 and running an adapter. My smith wasn't concerned with the thickness and said that there are new rifles threaded the same from factory. If I have any troubles I'm going to rebarrel anyway. Shooting a Banish .30
I'd say definitely not. Especially for that cartridge you should be looking for 5/8-24.I looked at a new Christiansen at the store the other day that was threaded 1/2x28. It was a 300 win mag. I guess that's good enough?
It’s hard to say but it seems higher quality steel than a washer. My suppressor should be out of jail any day now and I’ll be testing the accuracy with it vs without. Is that just a tapered washer on a factory barrel?
I’ve only put a hundred or so rounds through my Kimber/silencer combo using a thread protector and have had zero issues. I’m guessing my tikka 30-06 is goi g to need an adapter once it’s cut and threaded and I have zero concerns about that.On my tikka I run a thread adapter 1/2x28 to 5/8x24. But that looks much better and would be necessary if not running an adapter. I doubt you will have any issues as long as the surfaces are square and everything is tight.
Both christiansen and the suppressor manufacturer said it was fine. I was surprised to.I'd say definitely not. Especially for that cartridge you should be looking for 5/8-24.
