Ordered one. Should be a fun suppressed compact bolt gun. Since I’m new to this platform, any tips on what off the shelf ammo I should try through this. Just punching paper….

The AAC 77otm and the black hills 77 tmk both shoot well out of mine, but I haven't tried anything else yet.

Thanks! That’s exactly what I was hoping, just to keep my direct thread can the same.
Can you comment on the quality of the stock? Is it fiberglass or the cheap molded plastic like in the lite or super lite models?
Since I have no experience with other Tikka stocks, I’m curious as well as to the stock comparisons. My Super Varmint has the roughtech stock and it seems substantial to me, but I have no frame of reference. Sure do like the gun and the way it shoots, though.

I got hornady black 75 bthp for practice and 73 eldm for hunting.
Mine had the same zero at 100, and around past 250 the eld starts out performing . But I with the same 100 yard zero. I just use different drops charts during practice.

Any thoughts on why there may be some different ‘models’ floating around out there. I’m planning to get one in .223 but really want the 5/8x24 version. Anyone able to tell if there are different model numbers on the box?

Killed my first deer last night with a 73gr eldm bullet out of the 16' tikka. Roughly a 285 yard shot, and the bullet worked as hoped. The deer went less than 20 yards with his heart/lung destroyed... A very fun setup to run suppressed and now i can say effective as well.

Mine is in. Just need to go pick it up and grab some ammo for it. While probably an odd choice, I’ll be using a surefire rc2 from my gas gun until I decide what direct thread can I wish to purchase next…leaning towards a dd enticer or enticer L. They seem like a very good value…

Well mine is in, kinda. Took it home, have it a once over to find the front screw in the rail was half drilled and bolt is sticking way up. Contemplating drilling and tapping myself, or hacking the screw in half to make it go flush. Not what I want to do with a 1000 dollar gun, but don’t feel like sending it in for warranty…. The local ffl dealer is kindly looking at it now for me, and we will decide what to do soon. (Glad I dropped it off- as I was about to take a 6inch grinder to it!)

Oh, and mine came 1/2x28 as I wanted.

If you’re talking about the very front screw on the rail, I had the same thought when I got mine. It just felt like a strange oversight in manufacturing so I looked into it and it’s supposed to be that way. It’s for the attachment of a mirage shield. I guess the CTR has it as well.

Just picked one up today. Very cool little gun. I also did paper work for an otter creek labs polonium k can.

Now to decide on scope rings. The Sportsmatch to84 the lowest 30 mm Sportsmatch avalable? Either that or find some low pic rings...

Do you mind letting me know which barrel thread version you received and where you ordered it from?

That isn’t a rail screw- it’s for attaching a mirage shield.

Thanks all about the front rail screw! I’ll put down the torch, welder, and grinder and just use the gun!

I have the .223 version shooting
Hornady 73g eldms
6 kills so far most from 70-120 yards
1 bear - lungs and neck. Dropped
5 whitetails -3 neck shots does and buck- dropped
Other 2 bucks were double lunged- 70 yard and 40 yards run.

The blood trails suck and are pretty much non existent . Internal damage is great .

Shooting the factory loaded eldm? I was thinking that would be a good one to try.
