Anyone have a Boyds stock on their tikka? Specifically looking for a maple stock or something similar from another company without breaking the bank...

I think for a classic stock design, if you're not super picky, boyds would be a good option for getting a maple stock and then finishing it yourself. You'd need to bed it as well. I wouldn't bother with having them pillar bed it.

Tikka compact .223, cut to 18” and threaded by Kinport Peak Rifles, AB Raptor 8 with 4” reflex, extended picatinny rail to accommodate a thermal, SWFA 10x MOA, SKD Pig stock pack, RRS Anvil-30, Leofoto SA-324CL, shooting 77gr TMK’s of course. It’s been shooting .55” 5 shot groups in load development so far. I’ll make sure to shoot a 30 shot group before hunting big game with it! ;)

Just finished putting this one together.

Tikka LH action, 22” 30-06 CarbonSix Sendero barrel, Stockys Carbon Fiber hunter stock that I sponge painted and put a CTR cheek riser on, Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x42 scope, UM rings, Spartan bipod.

Bathroom scale says 8.8 lbs.

You mind showing the plate you have mounted to the stock that you are clipped into?

I’ll be putting together my first Rokslide special soon. I plan on using it for training and hunting. I have the following two scopes that each have their own drawbacks, which should I go with:

1. Nightforce SHV 4-14 F1 Mil-R reticle
2. SWFA fixed 10x42 Mil-Quad

I’d go with the milquad I don’t think it has any drawbacks

I guess since the 6x is seen as the gold standard, I figured the 10x is just a less than optimal version.

But thank you! I’ll go with the swfa.

I have the 10x SWFA on a T1x and I don't love the field of view. I'm pretty tempted to get another Maven 1.2 and put that on there instead.

That said, try what you've got, go shoot it, and you can always change it later.

Here's my start to my RSS. A new to me Tikka T3 lite in 243. My first Tikka rifle to boot. Currently in full factory condition with a VX3 3.5-10 on it until I can save up for a better scope. I'm gonna put a T3X factory stock on her and replace the bolt shroud and recoil lug, then she'll basically be a t3x from what I've read. Also currently has factory Tikka rings but I'm sure I'll change those when I get new scope.

What would the new go-to scope be if one wasn't wanting to spend 1k since the 3x9 SWFA is no longer attainable?
Thinking about a Trijicon Huron 3x12 and using the BDC.
I have a SWFA fixed 10x but that doesn't seem ideal for this rifle and its pretty chonky.
