Got the .223 RSS going today. Running some cheap ammo through it to "break in" the barrel before getting to the good stuff. Had the 6.5 CM RSS with me to check velocity on the new chrono.

Side note: after (limited) experience with the Tenebraex vs Aadmount scope caps, I'm leaning towards the Aadmounts.

Second side note: don't leave duct tape on your can, put your new cover on and shoot a bunch of rounds through it...that was a bit of a mess.

77gr AAC SMK - 2718 fps avg, 125 fps spread, 15 shot string
77gr Norma GTM - 2630 fps avg, 80 fps spread, 30 shot string
77gr Norma GTM - 2613 fpg avg, 111 fps spread, 20 shot string (pictured)

Why's that?

I have both, and can't work out which one annoys me more ... the Tenebraex open and close fine, but feel like Tupperware, and one of the mounts broke. The Aadmounts are hard, loud, and one of my occular caps won't shut properly.

I thought I preferred the Aadmounts more, seeing as the Tenebraex felt flimsy, but the Aadmount's noise plus failure has had me swinging back to Tenebraex.

Either way, I can't help but think there has to be a better design waiting to be developed ...

None with the CTR stock and bottom metal, two action screws.
Depending on caliber you need the magazines, the .308 CTR mags will work with 6.5 CM, 6 CM .243, and similar, .223 mags have an insert for the smaller round but have the same body.

I have several sets of the Aadmounts, and I'm thinking about switching back to Butler Creeks. The eyepiece Butler Creek caps will eventually break, but at least they're cheap and it's easy to keep a few spares around.

Here's mine. I've got a few range trips with it so far and have shot to 550yd. It's rapidly becoming my favorite gun.

Tikka T3X, 24" barrel, vertical grip, DIY cheekpiece, SWFA 6x, UM Tikka rings and bubble.

What is that thing attached to your seat that holds the rifles upright?

Mainly the tupperware feel and I like that the aadmounts lay more flat.

With the small clasps.

20” T3x 6.5 CM in a AG Composites Privateer. Honestly one of the best shooting rifles I’ve owned. shoots knots with my old Fieldcraft ammo and zero load development.
