Tikka rebarrel to 9.3x62

I went with McGowen. Sent them my left hand stainless Ruger 30-06 and they rebarreled it with a 22 inch tube. They only offer the 9.3x62 in a 1-12 twist but that is perfect IMO.
It will be awhile before I get a chance to shoot it as I have a couple of other rifles ahead of it that need glass bedding and loads worked up and sighted in. But I don't expect any feeding issues as I owned 9.3's in the past and never had any issues.
That's funny, my .35 Whelen started as a stainless Ruger MKII in .30-06. I had it rebarreled and chambered in .35 Whelen with a stainless Bevan King barrel. Hunted with it for a few years. It was always heavier then I liked but when I put a Nightforce SHV it pushed it over the edge weight wise. Then I found out on Rokslide that the barrel thread and pitch are the same on Tikka and Ruger with a slight tenon lenght difference. I pulled the barrel from the Ruger and had it screwed on a spare Tikka with minor chamber work. Saved a pound!
