Tikka owners - 7mm rem mag recoil vs 30-06

I have a T3x Hunter in 7mm Rem shooting 162 gr Hornady Precision Hunters. I put a limbsaver on and that gun is tame as a kitten I can shoot it all day long. I have a 30-06 Rem700 which for some reason beats me up after a few shots.

T3 30-06 with 180gr bullets over a max load of ramshot hunter were going 2800fps, and the recoil as pretty sharp. At the end of the day I settled on a tikka in 270win as my light weight do all rifle. I haven’t found anything that a 150gr partition won’t kill. And even with max loads the recoil is noticeablely less than the 30-06

Agreed

The 270win is still comfortable to shoot in the light weight rifles. The 30-06 gets rather snappy. I'd say the 270wsm and 7mm mag are easily tolerable for range sessions with the limbsaver.
