There is a Tikka M695 available locally for a pretty low price. I think I can get it out the door for around $350. It's in 300 Win Mag, and I don't have any use for the caliber. The only reason I'm considering it is because it is a lefty.
Is anybody familiar with this action and what is available for barrels? Is this thing even worth rebarreling? It looks like mags are expensive and hard to find as well.

They can use Tikka T3 barrels.

I had a M695 rebarreled to a 280AI but had a smith chamber it vs prefit. The mags allow a longer length so it works better with that cartridge than a T3 would.

They’re a bit heavier.

I didn’t know they made those in left and had them in the states. If you hate it (and I hope you do) I’ll take it off your hands.

Edit- I just looked it up and I was mistaking it for the master sporter

No, technically from what I understand- T3 prefits do fit and function fine. However, aren’t “exactly” correct.
Reviving and old thread, is this also true for the m65? I just picked up a pair of them and I'm trying to find info on them. Also trigger compatibility? The previous owner turned one into a "hair" trigger and id like to replace it.

You might look to see if the m65 is pre-Sako. I don't remember when the merger happened, but it wasn't until fairly recently 20-30 years.

Unfortunately I can't find that info, 5 digit serial numbers would make me assume so, the bolts aren't interchangeable between the standard and magnum. And the standard is a cross bolt/ eject so i assume they weren't production models. But neither have factory barrels on them. And one is stamped E. MÄKINEN who purchased tikkakowskis barrel machines after the purchase. I bought these on auction from a Finnish import.

The pre-Sako Tikka's had some plastic in the receiver. I can't remember what it looked like or what the purpose was other than financial savings.

595's and 695's are perfect rifles. The T3 is a way cheaper made version of those rifles. Too much Sako engineering the 595 and 695 to be as profitable as they wanted.

T3 has been reimagined as a mid-grade rifle, but was not the original intent.
