Tikka Long Range Accuracy

So I own a few Tikkas but only am able to shoot to about 400 yards on a regular basis as that is far as our club goes. Just curious what kind of accuracy you guys are seeing at longer ranges from the T3 or T3X Lite models?

Shot my T3 over the weekend. 300 win mag with handloads. Busted a clay pigeon at 470. Smoked some rock targets at 730. I am no amazing marksman, bit to me, that gun is a shooter.

We have plinked steel targets out at really really long yardages with our Tikkas and Sakos.

You will find that keys to long range shooting are having reliable velocities with your ammo/rifle combo, a scope that dials and tracks correctly, and knowing proper ballistics and windage.

The rifles will do it all day.

mine will keep up with the heavy guns out to 900. i don't shoot many targets further these days. i have found whatever group i'm seeing at 100 yards doesn't open up down range. just takes a little more attention to form than my heavy guns do.

I get out to 600 - 750 regularly with T3X SuperLites in 6.5 and a 223. And have taken the 6.5 out to 1025 a couple times.

I don’t really shoot groups at those distances. But I’m hitting my target where I aim within MOA+/-

I’ve got a 7mag that I should really get a good scope on and take it out too.

They all shoot well

Man I was about to post this same question. I have a few spots that I can shoot 400+ and was curious of the T3's long and even longer range. Mines a .308

Have a T3X in 300 Win Mag shooting 190 grain Bergers (hand load). No issues hitting targets at 1000 yards.

Now that my hunting season is over, will be developing hand loads for my T3X in 6.5 Creedmoor.

Consistency is crucial the further you shoot. Commercial ammo will have more variance than hand loads. An inexpensive scope will usually not provide as much repeatable dialing as a more expensive one. And the most important, any flaws in the shooters fundamentals will get amplified the further that they shoot.

Using a Zeiss conquest 3x9 with the bdc reticle I have got good groups on paper at 400 and have busted rocks at 600 yards with my .270 tikka.

I’ve got a t3x, carbon6 prefit 27” 1:8 with an APA little bastard, bedded into a Mesa precision stock, trigger all the way down, HSM trophy gold 7RM 168vld’s at about 3145 fps, consistently shoots 1/2”-5/8” at 200 yds. The furthest I’ve shot it was 940 yds with about an 11-12 mph wind, a cold bore shot and 2 follow ups. Just under 7”, the second 2 were about 3” apart.

I take my t3 lite 308 out to 600 when at the range. But it usually takes a few times to hit it. But I’m pretty sure that’s user error.

Slooooooooow.....a bit under 2,800.

“3.310” is the OAL. I think it was just kissing the lands.

3,000 FPS with a 155 in an ‘06 should be rather easy.

3,310 and you’ll be in trouble.

I have a t3x 270 wsm and it’s sub moa At 200 yards I know thats not 400 but shoots like a dream. with being a lite gun it kicks pretty hard also. Shoots pretty much any pill I give it. Loves the Berger’s though
