Tikka 595 rebarrel

I am new to this site. I found it when I was researching on how I would like to rebuild my Tikka 595 7-08. I have also have a t3x roughtech 6.5 creedmoor that is stupid accurate so that has replaced my 7-08 in actual use. I am thinking I would like to rebarrel it to 6mm creedmoor or 6 GT. I am wondering if T3 prefits will fit the 595 action?

I’ve done a T3x takeoff to 595, sent to gunsmith. The barrel stamps don’t line up, but he didn’t charge me any extra on top of rechambering. So.. not sure if it’s as easy as a diy barrel swap, but it’ll work in a gunsmiths hands.

I am certainly not opposed to having a gunsmith do the rebarrel. In fact, that was going to be my original plan. Then I started looking at how guys on this site are playing Tikka Leggos. That got me thinking I would like to play that game.

@hereinaz has prefits for 6CM. Find the Tikka Tool loaner thread, spin it on and check go/no go. May line right up and save you the gunsmith time.

The threads are the same on T3, but I don’t know about headspace.

We could pick up a barrel nut version. If you buy a barrel from us we will spin it on your action for $50 right now. Would be standard wait times for the barrel production of 10-12 weeks.
