Tikka 243 8 twist model # *UPDATED 2/2/23*PLEASE READ*

There is rumblings that they are indeed real but are still working into the distribution channels:

Time will tell of course but I'm assuming it'll take a bit to sort itself out.

A family member of mine was recently shopping for a new hunting rifle in .243 so I told them to look into ordering the 1-8” Tikka .243 if available. In January they were told by multiple gun shops that these could not be ordered so they ended up buying a .223 instead.

However, last week on Friday one of the gun shops they spoke to initially called back and told them they could now order the 1-8” Tikka .243. Could be a mistake like others in the thread have experienced, but may also mean they’ve finally become available in the US market. I guess time will tell…

Just wanted to provide an update for anyone following this. I was browsing Scheels in Missoula today, turns out they are real. They had a standard blued and a compact blued. Both said 8” on the barrel. That compact sure is handy with the 20” barrel.

I wonder how long the throat is on one these 243 Tikka chambers. They seem to be longer than saami in a handful of their other chambers I've played with.

Thanks for posting that. I was pretty disappointed in myself that I’d put out bad info. Glad there’s some validity to the thread now.

Got a friend who has a 1-8" twist Tikka Hunter in 243. Says so right on the box, fluted SS barrel.
