The issue with the Tikka 223 factory mags is the magazine springs, not the feed lips. It’s also more common in the 6-round mags than the 4-round mags. I called Beretta’s USA customer service and asked about this. They said it was a known issue due to a parts supplier, but did not have a fix for it other than stretching the mag spring. I have not experienced or heard of feeding issues with tikka mags in other calibers.
There are some aftermarket 223 mag options that work well. The best in my opinion is the Waters Rifleman mags out of Australia. They are pricey, but work really well and can be had in 6 and 10-round versions. I bought a few of their 6-rounders. It hurt my pocket, but the rifle feeds hugely better.
@Formidilosus has also posted good results with the 10-round mamba mags which are cheaper, but are also larger. Both the Waters and Mamba options are metal. The Mambas are metal in the top portion that inserts into the mag well and are polymer below. There isn’t currently an aftermarket mag that is close to flush-fit and reliable that I am aware of.
