Just got my new tikka 223 home and was running some ammo through the action without firing it just checking on how the magazine feeds. I have 200 rounds of factory nosler varmageddon 55gr I was planning on shooting and then reloading that brass since I'd have 200 of the same brand of brass from the same lot of ammo but I noticed the bolt was a little stiff to close which is was not on Remington UMC Winchester or white box or any of the other random ammo I ran through it. Anybody ever ran into any issues like this with nosler ammo? I plan on taking chamber measurements and measuring the ammo tomorrow to make sure it's not jamming into the lands or something odd before I shoot it.

Yep. I had a tikka 7-08 that would not close on nosler ammo. I have heard of several others with the same issue. brass is a touch oversized I guess, and if chamber is a bit on the tight side….

It took almost 2 years to get it, but nosler did replace the ammo for me.

The bolt closes on this without too much resistance so if it's just snug to the chamber I'll probably just shoot it up.

I’ve experienced this with my tikka on more than one type of ammo. Not just rough, but certain mfg will actually have my bolt stick halfway closed, or all the way closed. IE some Hornady, even a round of precision hunter this season 🤷
