Has anyone been able to thread a 223 tikka lite barrel 5/8-24 with a .100” or larger shoulder? I haven’t purchased one yet so can’t measure myself.

Wondering if I could have the barrel cut at 18” and then thread 5/8-24

Yes you can, but it will not have a .100 shoulder.

Not possible with having a shoulder.

Some have added a collar.

At that length 1/2x28 is about all you’re going to get if you follow the .1” shoulder rule.

At 18” you can do 1/2 or 9/16. I have both on 16-18” tikkas. Any longer you'll be better off with 1/2”

I need to get my 223 chopped and threaded eventually, I was just planning to do 1/2" with a 5/8" adapter on it (versus a collar install). Lots of 556 cans are 1/2" so that'd give me flexibility down the line with that barrel. That was my thinking on it. I need to decide on length still.
