Anyone loaded 80gr Eldm or x in a factory 8twist tikka ?

I tried some with h4350 and was getting 3+ inch groups. My gun shoots 77gr tmks with h4350 1/2”-3/4” allll day

Just sent my Tikka out for a .22-250 swap, so not much help yet. Hoping to find a load with H4350 or Varget.

I’m going to try two different loads for the 80 eldm next weekend with Varget and 4350. Shooting the factory 22-250 1:8 twist Tikka too. If you don’t have it before then, hopefully I can help you out.

Before I changed to 22/250 AI my standard 22-250 1-8 twist Lilja loved 36.6 grs of IMR4831. Might worked up to that if you ve got IMR4831 and play with your seating depth. I d test from .010 to .030 off lands to start.

BTW, that was Sierras accuracy load in one of their old manuals.

I am looking to buy a Tikka t3x 22 250. Been looking for a 1@8 twist. I may go ahead and turn it into a 22 250AI. I use my 22 250 to fill the doe tags.

I have several cans of varget. I can't wait to get the Tikka t3x 22 250.

just got done shooting 77 tmks and 80 eldms. I stayed with varget only. The 77s I used 34 grains and it shot about an inch group at 3220fps. There was definitely pressure signs so I’m going to have to dial it back. I blew a primer and had sticky bolt lift after the second shot.

The 80 eldm was shot with 33.5 grains and that didn’t shoot very well for me. The velocity was 3130fps and I also had sticky bolt lift once it started warming up.

Using Lapua 1x fired brass, Winchester LRP, and Varget. Lapua brass usually shows pressure signs faster in this tikka than hornady brass for some reason.
