Thread Tikka 6.5 creed. Barrel length suggestions.

Just got back from shooting my 16”. Was focused on another rifle but I had 8 shots of my last 130 TMK batch. Twice fired brass I think…

In 100 degree heat. So it’s a warm load, but nothing I’m worried about at all.

Just got a stainless model and got it cut down to 18" and threaded. It's a handy woods gun for me as I have MUCH better options for anything that would require distance. As long as you know what you're limitations are cut it as short as you want to go and then take 2" more off.

For that price what do you have to lose? If youre not throwing a can on it, leave it at 20" or 22". If you are running one, no one will argue with 16". If you dont have a gun 18" or shorter, you should do it.

That’s impressive for a 16” creed!
I’m only getting 2850-2900ish with a 6.5prc that’s 20”
Youre using stabal 6.5 ?

Yes, Staball 6.5. 45.5. Also loaded longer than book. Again it’s a 130gr. Staball wakes the cartridge up.

My sons Superlite 6.5 we had cut and threaded just above the flutes so it came out about 21”. With suppressor and our hand loads (warm but safe) he gets 2825 with 139 scenars.
