Thread locker for Suppressor

I became a true gentleman this weekend and got my first suppressor, a silencer co scythe Ti.

do you guys recommend a thread locker to secure the Bravo mount to the suppressor? The manual recommends rockset- I know nothing about that stuff. Is this the way to go or is something else better?

Do you degrease the threads? The manual says not to use acetone. Curious if that is a rule or a suggestion.

I used acetone on the barrel threads and nothing else. Carbon should lock it up after a few shots.

Inise a little locktite on there. It helps a bit but is easily removed if needed. Get yourself a set of strap Wrenches. You'll need them.

I clean the threads with brake cleaner to remove any oil. I was using Rockset, but switched to red Loctite. I think the red Loctite is a little easier to use and it can be removed by applying little heat. I do think it’s a good idea to use some kind of thread locker so the adapter stays attached to the rifle.

If you shoot enough, red loctite will melt right out. Rocksett holds up to like 1800 degrees but dissolves out in water.

I use acetone to clean and rokset to secure muzzle devices.

Use just one drop of rokset. You can use too much and it can be a bear to get off if you do.

I just spin it on, back off 1/4 turn and then spin it on fast that last 1/4 turn. I check through out the hunt each day and don’t have issues. I do a lot of hiking.

I’ve also shot with a barely loose can on during practice one day and saw no POI change.

I wouldn’t make a mountian out of a mole hill (and this is coming from a guy that is a professional at that lol)

I believe @Cactus kid is referring to the Bravo DT mount that screws onto the back of the Scythe Ti. I have the same suppressor. I've only been out twice with mine and have had the same problem. The Bravo DT mount unscrews from the suppressor and stays attached to the barrel after shooting session is over and I try to remove the suppressor from the barrel.

I've been researching and it seems that rocksett may be the answer to keep the Bravo DT mount attached to the suppressor and perhaps some anti-seize for the barrel threads so it won't lock up on the barrel

Thoughts?

No antiseize is needed on the barrel. Clean the threads and wrist snap it on. If it makes you feel good then a small drop of rokset on the barrel threads wont hurt.

For the hub adapters, I use a drop of rockset, along with a socket wrench/tube clamp.

keep an eye on your stuff. about 30 rounds into shooting with my 18" creed and my red loctited thread adapter was spinning freely.

Yall LOCTITE yours, I put N5000 on mine and CAN NOT get the fn suppressor off my barrel. lol

A drop. Like pin head I can usually break without soaking.
If you cant get it with reasonable force a water soak will break it. Sometimes it helps to boil the water with the adapter and then let it cool.
I always err on the side of caution. I had a stock muzzle device come on one of my AR's that after 48 hours soaking and boiling still too a action wrench and cheater bar to break.

I started with red lock tite on the muzzle threads to brake and the bravo mount to suppressor but all it takes is a few bursts or even a few rounds in somewhat rapid succession on a bolt rifle for that red lock tite to get warm and loosen up. I switched to roksett and haven’t had an issue since. I had to remove a brake at one point and soaked it in water for a few minutes and it loosened right up with no problems. I now have roksett on the muzzle threads to secure the brake to the barrel and on the threads that secure the bravo mount to the can.
