Those of you living in CO or following closely, do you have a preferred candidate, who actually has a chance to win, who you see as a positive for Colorado hunting, fishing, and conservation initiatives? A candidate who might reverse current policy trends put in place by Polis or at a minimum not further them?

I have known about Victor Marx before he announced he was running, he also has a full interview on the Shawn Ryan Show if you want to know his testimony and life story. He's got my vote. I wish he would address the hunting issues a little bit more.

I'm just starting to get into research mode, but "opposite of Polis" is a good place to start. I don't ascribe to any particular ideology and I'm always making my decisions based on present-tense judgments, not "what my daddy told me to like when I was little." But nobody likes Polis - left, right, or center. He's the classic person you'd be shouting "pick a lane" at.

My criteria:
1. They have the courage and conviction of their beliefs, whether I agree with them or not.
2. I won't abide liars, and can't stand hypocrites.
3. Irrationality and appeals to hate-based decisions are huge turn-offs for me. We're supposed to be the greatest country in the world, not the ones everyone is laughing at. I'm tired of looking stupid on the world stage, and yes, states matter there too.

It seems likely that our system won't present a candidate that is everything I want, which is kind of sad given my list is just basically "rules for not being a worthless human being". I suppose I'll do like I always do, and vote for the least-worst on the ballot.

Too early to put much into it, we'll see who's actually on the ballots for the primaries.

I just hope for someone that is more honorable about how they conduct themselves and respecting user groups and stake holders, esp. when appointments are supposed to specifically represent stake holders the stake holders should be in favor of their representative. Too much BS of "leaders" doing whatever they want.

We have to see who shakes out from the primaries. I can tell you that even a D who isn’t bought and paid for by polis and Stryker and the cronies will be welcomed by me otherwise I doubt we will see any change in the commission make up and the CPW director. Otherwise I’m willing to bet Marlon will keep his claws in the CPW.

Victor seems like he would be great but he has to win the state and then the uphill fight in the state house. He will get to pick commissioners and that is huge!

Maybe the looney left will think he's Karl's great grandson and they'll all vote for him?

I want my state to return to more of the middle of the road. Polis has ruined the DPW. Unfortunately Denver/Boulder will their candidate, no matter who anyone else gets on the ballot.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Polis is the classic "pick a lane!" guy. You won't see this on Rokslide but I hang out in a lot of places including those that you'd think would support him, and literally nobody on "thuh left" likes him right now either. He's just totally checked out at this point and doesn't stand for anything at all. A sponge could replace him.

Be cool if you guy's next dem gov isn't as anti-hunting. I'm skeptical you have any say in what happens though. Next gov will do what his masters tell him to.

Victor Marx will get my vote. He's true to his word and does cares about people, mainly children in trouble. He's a man of God and a has an incredible mission. I'll do more research on him but I have friends at church that have listened to him speak and talked with him and his wife afterwards. He's not a politician by any means, just someone who cares about the right things.

My wife and I were recently invited to meet Victor Marx at a friend's home and we decided to support his campaign. We were impressed with what he had to say, his past leadership for kids, and his passion to save Colorado from our current direction. We decided that rather than sitting on the sidelines this year it was time to step up and become more active and supportive in the process. He is currently ahead in fund raising and seems to fully understand his path to victory.
