What brands and quantity of pieces do you folks uses when it comes to underwear and socks for a backcountry hunt. this question has been running through my head lately. Please, not to many details, just quick answers lol. I don't need the stories we all can imagine.

FL wool underwear
FL wool socks
Kuiu wool socks
Darn Tough wool socks
Smart Wool wool socks

Haven't narrowed down what socks I prefer. All are performing well.

And why would you feel weird asking what socks and underwear people use? It is a regularly discussed topic, and a very important piece of your gear.

I wear in what I take. Cabela's poly liner socks, Smartwool Classics Merino socks, Core 4 or First Lite merino boxers, and merino base layers.........I have several different brands that I use. I generally only do 2-4 day jaunts into specific places and then back to base camp, so I don't need more than one pair of each.

I run either first lite red desert boxers or Sitka merino boxers.
For socks really like the farm to feet I bought last year and I also have a few pairs of darn tough I mix in.

I don't think it's odd at all. Nothing ruins time out like monkey butt or foot issues.

I'm trying Icebreakers merino boxers right now and liking them so far. Also playing the sock game between Smartwool and a few others and about to try Darn Tough.

Underarmour polyester boxers. I am all about merino, with a very strong exception being boxers. Tried a few brands, all too hot and clammy.

Socks, I like my Lorpen merino hikers. They are a merino and polyester blend of some proportion with a nice thick footbed.

I don't like Merino next to my junk due to chaffing problems and generally not comfortable for me, especially in warm conditions. Merino, has its place, but not next to my danglers. So I switched to synthetic. I use Arc'Teryx Phase SL boxers. I've found I can go just as long in the field with them as merino.

I use Darn Tough socks exclusively. I use their cushion, merino boot sox.

Darn Tough mountaineering socks and mostly some old Terramar merino long underwear or Icebreaker merino boxer briefs. If I hadn't purchased these before I started using First Lite I'd be using all First Lite merino.

Saxx underwear. Found them at the Outdoor Retailer show. They have a "pocket" built into the underwear, which keeps your junk from rubbing your legs.
