My wife has a meeting in Boise the week of August 26th. I'm thinking of flying out with her and doing some fishing and maybe some sightseeing. Any tips or suggestions of guides and places I should visit would be greatly appreciated.

YessirDo you fly fish?
Dang, that's not good.Southern and central Idaho are extra crispy this summer, with fires already going strong not too far from Boise. I would expect some significant smoke to be hanging in most areas by late August. I sure hope I'm wrong.
I looked through the hunting guides but didn't see much for that time period. I'd love to do some hunting. You could go hunting…
SF Boise river flows will be wadable at the end of August. Shoot me a PM, and I'll be happy to get you lined out on what gear to bring or where you can rent it. If my work schedule allows, I might be able to join you out there.Yessir
be prepared for combat fishing on the Owyhee- but I agree no need for a guide there and the fishing has been goodSF Boise river flows will be wadable at the end of August. If you don't mind crowds and want easy-to-catch fish, you can hit the Owyhee just on the other side of the Oregon border. In my opinion, an experienced angler doesn't need a guide on this water.
