I’m looking for a new pair of light gloves…something close to a liner style glove. I run hot 🥵, so I tend to wear a light glove 90% of the time I’m in the field out west.

I’ve had a couple pair of a First Lite merino glove, but they wear out in a single season.

Looking for something more durable. What do you like?

Preferably merino with the ability to operate the phone’s touch screen.

I use the Black Ovis merino ones but they went out of business. Luckily I have several pairs from picking them up on sale. I have some older Kuiu merino that work well and seem a little more durable but not quite as soft

Stone Glacier Chinook Merino gloves are an excellent, thin, liner type glove.
Totally agree with this and I have them. Would just caution folks that they’re pure merino and not remotely waterproof. So if there’s any moisture — even just dew on plants — they do soak through quickly.

I've used the mil surplus wool liner glove since I was a kid. I have never felt like I needed anything more refined or expensive when it comes to that weight of glove

I have liked the kuiu axis gloves. I usually grab them if they are on sale. I have had the mechanix gloves but I feel like they are a sponge as soon as there is a little moisture and the kuiu ones I feel are better at moisture management even with sweat. they have the finger tips to be able to use a phone too.

It kind of depends on the task. I have some thin, liner-weight smart wool gloves that I enjoy. My hands tend to stay cold, so these are great to keep in my jacket pockets, to just take the chill off.

For "working" I actually just use some light cut-resistant gloves that are standard issue from work. I get these for free by removing them from the trash and launder them at home. If some of you all want to try them, I'll cram as many in a USPS flat-rate box if you're willing to cover the shipping.
