Good glives for elk hunting in MT

I need to add a good set of glives to wear hunting in MT. I understand layering. I have a few sets of thin liners i wear almost all the time. I have some big over mits that used to wear mountaineering. But i dont really have a set of good allround gloves.

I think i want something maybe 200 weight fleece, probably windstop. Maybe some grip material on the palm, maybe some external material on the back of the hand. But maybe i just need a pair of insulated gloves and not fleece. Or maybe just a pair of insulated work gloves.


If it is really cold and i am just sitting or hiking i can wear my over mits. When i am taking a shot i often go down to just liners or nothing. But nice gloves would be nice. I would probably rather go lighter than too bulky. I think something to cut the wind is a must.

I use my Kuiu Guide Gloves a lot. They may be heavier than what you're looking for, but they are good all around gloves. The new Kuiu Strongfleece 290 looks intriguing.
