I took my CZ 457 to an Appleseed Rimfire Known Distance (KD) shoot this weekend; shot a 50/50 on the 100 yard course and a 49/50 on the 200 yard course (the white sticker at 10 o'clock in the photo is the shot I missed; dropped it on the 150 yard stage).

Course of fire for the 200 yard course is:
10 shots offhand at 50 yards, 2 min time limit
10 shots seated at 100 yards, transition from standing to seated, 1 mag change, 55 sec time limit
10 shots prone at 150 yards, transition from standing to prone, 1 mag change, 65 sec time limit
10 shots prone at 200 yards, 5 min time limit (these shots count double)

Same course of fire for the 100 yard course, except the ranges are 25, 50, 75, and 100 yards, and the target is 50% smaller.

No bipods or bags, just slings.

That looks like it could have been fun

Since this is the cz thread, I am dumping my harrells tuner, ready for a 457 mtr barrel or others at .860"

This was an unplanned purchase but when I saw the price on this 455 American.....
It had fired less than 25 .17HMR and the .22lr barrel was brand new 😁20220814_135732.jpg

The .22 barrel was a shooter right from the start, nice tiny 50m groups and oh so quiet.

I've just switched to the .17 barrel and it's been a trial, lots of trying Torque settings on the barrel set screws, action screws and different ammo.
Today I finally thought to remove the suppressor and try it and boom, freaking result! (Yeah I pulled one of the 5)
Guess I'll be moving this .17 suppressor on as my .22lr suppressors fit and don't open the groups up

Think the newer 457 Varmint is available stateside in Left Hand now. It's on my short list of guns I want ASAP.

My 455 TactiCool shoots lights out with Norma TAC-22...which is readily available.

My CZ is a total franken-gun. :)

Started life as a 24" barrel, low-stock iron sight 455...Trainer model I think? I put a lighter trigger spring in it. Pretty good sights, but my eyes started going so I put an old 1.5-4.5 weaver scope I had on it. Fun squirrel gun, but the low stock was a problem for using a scope, even one that low. I found a used CZ American Varmint stock used, even had pretty nice wood. Then I got into shooting PRS, and the winter option was NRL22, so I put a 15min rail and 3-12 scope with turrets on it. Then we started doing longer match stages out to 350-400 yards, so I went to a viper pst g2 5-25 scope and a 30moa rail. I didn't like how the barricades were banging up my nice wood stock, so I modified the original wooden stock with pillars, bedded it, completely reshaped it with bondo, balanced it with inset lead decoy weights, etc. That was pretty good but I had to rattle-can it because the bondo was kinda pink colored and the other kids at the range made fun of my gun.

Now I just figure it's the worlds ugliest groundchuck gun. Maybe someday I'll get a purpose built gun for matches and turn this back into a nice squirrel gun.

My 457 is one of my favorite rifles. It’s one of Manners version with an Area 419 Lilja, Anarchy extended mag release, and a Timney trigger. Shot an NRL 22X hunter style match with it a couple months ago and had a blast. Placed 23rd out of 50 in my first ever match if any kind. I have a SilencerCo sparrow in jail for it.

It shoots Eley Tenex into 10 round groups like this without much work at all.

Here is the 457 Pro Varmint all put together with all of the mods that I listed previously. It is going to be awesome to have the same scope on it that I hunt with. Only thing missing is the Dead Air Mask, which is waiting on E File approval. Have not shot it yet, so it has yet to be zeroed, hence the turrets positioned as they are. I added up the cost of this little project.. didn't quite expect to spend $3,000 on a .22!

I swapped out the scope on my 457. The NXS 2.5-10x32 Mil Dot is amazing as a hunting optic, however it was not ideal on the .22.
Without adjustable parallax, it wouldn’t focus for 50 yard shooting.

I picked up this SHV 4-14x50 F1 Mil-R. It still has the same reticle as my 42mm NXS, so it will still work well as a training rifle.

I already posted the photo of my 452 FS with a 1-4x Leupold in a squirrel thread but I will add it here, too.

I also have a 452 Varmint with a 10X SWFA. My daughter has a 452 Scout with a 2.5-7X Weaver rimfire scope. I wish I would have also bought an Ultra Lux (my brother has one of those) and a left hand American when they were closing them out.
I have the 455 FS in .17 hmr. My favorite rifle of them all! Beautiful and is a tack driver. I wish they would not have discontinued the FS line.

I currently have a 452 Scout and a 452 Varmint with a DIP 30moa rail.
Both have the triggers lightened with the kit that was available on Rimfirecentral before YoDave got in the game.
Love the way these shoot SK Standard and Wolf Match.
I started my son on the 452 Scout at age 6 with irons and it now wears a Nikon 4X.
Both shoot incredibly well.

I have a Savage Rascal and a 457 Scout, set up with reddots for the kids. The rascal doesn't get shot much, as every kid wants to shoot the suppressed one. Done a bolt knob swap and a paint job and nuked the fugly iron sights for me. Because I like using the little bastid, too.....

What red dot and mount are you using on the cz? I might need to put one on my girls scout.

What kind of rings rails are y’all running for a Cz 452 American? I’d like to put a Swfa 6x on mine but 30mm mounts for a 3/8 dovetail seem to be in short supply. Area 419 doesn’t make a rail for the American unfortunately.

Looks like Talley makes a 0MOA and 20MOA rail:

That is a wonderful looking rifle.
