Some recovered bullets over the years. From left to right...
.270 win, 140g accubond thru whitetail
shoulders 250 yds
.300 win, 180g accubonds from a couple elk
.300 win, 200g accubond from a proud bull
moose at 60 yds quartering away.
.338 win, 200g accubond from my elk this year.
3060 fps at muzzle, 150 yd shot slightly
quartering to, stayed off the shoulder and
went for the ribs. Still thinking on that one
.338 win, 225g speer grand slams from 4 elk.
Loved that bullet but was discontinued.
Guess you'd say BC was shit compared to the
fancy stuff offered today, but they killed like
Thors hammer and wouldn't explode on
bone. One of those nice mushrooms hit a
bull at 250 yds quartering to. Went thru the
shoulder bone between the upper and lower
joints, through the top of heart, lungs and
was laying under the far side hide. Crushed
him.
I've noticed that accubonds hit hard, but do have more of a tendency to want to shear once there into the solid portion of the shank.
