Agreed…. Just honest feedback — I know that you all were glad to get away from headsets and individual microphones, but the audio has been pretty bad since the switch.

Same. I tried for a few minutes, skipped ahead a few minutes to see if it got any better then shut it off. Straining to hear what they are saying es muy no bueno.

Same here. I couldn’t hear it in my work truck.

It looks and sounds like they're using a usb conference call mic to record? I'm curious about the thought process behind that whether it was a choice or if someone spilled coffee on the good equipment or something and this is a stop-gap to avoid having to cancel guests?

Shure and some others (Sennheiser, Nureva, ClearOne, etc.) do have some really impressive phased-array mic systems for conferencing that actually sound ok as far as zoom calls go but this is definitely not anything like that.

That would require a different physical model that characterizes pressure bleed-off through the touch hole, but the relationship there is fairly straight forward - the larger the touch hole, the less muzzle pressure and felt recoil, but the more flash in your face.

The audio issues are increasing. The main problem is talking over each other. This is prevented by most podcasts through the use of headsets. The headsets make you shut up by hearing the audio of the other guy talking.

Using open mics without headsets requires extreme discipline.

This was a studio podcast!? I only listened for the first few minutes and assumed it was a presentation at the HAHA class that they had recorded and made a podcast out of it!!

Just adding to the wastebasket…
In these modern times where we’re over stuffed with high production value content and fancy AI videos…I really get a kick out of the S2H podcast and it’s clunkiness. When I’m having coffee on a Tuesday morning and cruise on over to YouTube and see that they posted a new podcast, but it’s really just a minute long clip from last week’s podcast with better audio…I laugh my balls off. I don’t think I want it to get better or more polished.
Keep doing it like ya’ll do. It’s refreshing.

Just putting it out there, todays podcast sounded great. They got their audio tuned in, and balanced. I imagine having a new studio and stuff takes some time to dial in. Thanks @Ryan Avery and @Unknown Munitions for putting on a great podcast that I look forward to every time! Great job!

It did sound a lot better. Still some phasing issues but significant improvement.
