It is a different thought process than any bag Exo has made before. It is designed around some core principles of how we use gear that is based on speed of access to daily use items- tripod/spotter or binos, puff suit and/or rain gear, daily food, etc; and protecting your sleep system- not one buckle has to be unclipped to access any of those items. It’s the fastest and cleanest way to go from packed and hiking, to setup and glassing/shooting.
I’ve never owned an Exo pack. Are there frames/belts as comfortable as SG?

They are both good, but the K4 is pretty sweet and the company is great.

I’ve used both a good bit and generally say the K4 wears a lot more comfortable - one of the main reasons is being able match the stay height to my torso, which was the thing that got me to switch. The wider hip belt, larger lumbar, stay shape, and suspension are quite good. The bags are a little “busy” but between the 3600 and 7200 I’ve been really happy. Especially like the dry bag liner, the pack lid, and roll top on the bags themselves.

So I have used the big three. Kifaru, Stone and EXO. Ill leave out Barneys because its so specialized and KUIU because I am not a fan of their packs. Kifaru is hands down my favorite fit form and function especially with a heavy load, the stone hurt my hips with heavy loads but was a well built pack and quality was on par. I liked the K3 except the belt/ hip pads sat funny on me, this was changed and "fixed" with the K4. From what Steve told me it was a large "problem" with a lot of people. IMO packs are like boots, bourbon and women. You have to try them all and see what works for YOU best.

Thanks, will read this!

The suppressor podcast was a good one. I can’t even own one and I liked everything they were talking about. It all made complete sense to me. And that guy quitting his job to pursue and try to fill this gap in the market. I’d be happy to support someone that takes a leap like that and genuinely wants to just make a great product. Hope lots of success for the whole suppressor team over there 👊🏼
