This is hard to listen to. He is talking about new hunters / kids and making sure they have "enough" gun. I can speak on this personally. giving a kid a rifle that has more recoil they can need will teach them how to slap the shit out of the trigger. i still fight it

While that is true….losing half a millimeter in diameter can determine if wallop/oomph/authority is achieved vs a bullet bouncing off the elk.
Grandpappy warned JVB about this.
And JVB is our grandpappy now.
Not necessarily. You could have a smaller projectile propelled with more oomph that will produce a deeper wallop, thusly intensifying the Authoritization it inflicts on the animal.

Whallop = R^2 * 1/2m

Where :
R= free recoil of the rifle (Lb-ft/s)
m= mass of projectile (grains)

The mass of the projectile is important but nowhere near as much as the recoil. Recoil is squared because the bullet gains energy once it leaves the muzzle. This is also known as the Authority Factor.

The full equation uses TOF to reduce the whallop calculated but is largely disregarded inside of 362 yards. Use of a muzzle device like a brake or suppressor can shift this distance, but once the Authority Factor is included, the shift is not really observable in the field.

Minutes ~36-45ish are laughable at best with multiple rokslide mentions, I don’t know why I even started this one because I already knew I’d be going into it with a “bias” but I was able to make it through most of it because I couldn’t stop laughing. Rokslide seems to be quite the controversial topic lately, bunch of kool-aid drinking scope dropping fools over here.

You forgot to add the amount the bullet will rise after it leaves the muzzle. I'm told that with magnum rifles the bullet will do that. Probably multiple rise by because I said so should get you into the ball park

I COMPLETELY forgot about Whallop (with an H). Which is the metric which measures the Authority applied in the direction of the SHOOTER!! Very important distinction to be made here! And also equally important in overall Authoritative quantifications!!

I can't presume to know their intentions and desires. I do not know them and can't read their minds. Most people do want to know the truth even if it will cause internal conflict. Humans are curious by nature.
Money and/or power routinely cause people to present what they know to be at best misleading and at worst outright lies all the time... I mean its a lawyers job for instance to literally do this for their client even if they know the person is 100% guilty they will spin a tale of doubt, etc. because its their job. Politicians do it all the damn time too. Why do you think influencers who have something to gain wouldn't do it? Sure they personally might want to know the truth (just as I'm sure a lawyer wants to know if their client is actually guilty) but what comes out of their mouth often is what is in the best interest of their "client".

Someone really hurt Caylen's feelers with this drop test. He trashed it on youtube and now instagram. You would have thought @Formidilosus kicked his puppy.
Not once did he say if the rifle was in a case, laid on the seat, floorboard etc. I suppose it doesn't really matter, 10 miles on a washboard road is a legit test for sure. 👌

So glad to see he debunked all of what the other “tests” have proven all the while taking what? Maybe 20 minutes to do so?
If him and his optics expert buddy ever actually go out to shoot with Ryan and Form I hope it’s all on video. I could care less about seeing the bullets hit paper, I want to see facial expressions and demeanor changes 😂

Multiple companies and individuals have asked, or been offered to come out- and they have all been told yes without hesitation. The deal is that there would be a continually running camera while everyone goes to a local store and multiple scopes of whatever they believe in are bought, then taken to a range. Then the rifle proofed by going through the drop eval in front of them and on camera. Then have the companies/individual mount the brand new scopes as the please, then they zero it and conduct the drop eval themselves. All with uninterrupted filming.

Unsurprisingly all have declined or immediately stopped communicating.

JVB is throwing shade at form now saying apparently he hasn't skinned out enough animals if he thinks a shoulder cant stop a bullet.
JVB be wrong! This is from a 440 yard impact from my 223 with 77TMK. Impact velocity 1950-ish. Went through the onside shoulder, clipped the bottom of the spine, and lodged just under the surface on the far side of the far shoulder.
