You think he lives in Bozeman or Missoula?
I'm pretty sure if you have any Tikka T3 or T3X action, all you need is a prefit chambered barrel with a bolt in a matching boltface for the cartridge the barrel is chambered in and you can shoot anything from 223 to 338WM with the same rifle using a barrel vise and an action wrench. Adding anything else in-line adds tolerance stacking and increases chances of diminishing accuracy.I know you don't want questions, so this is more of a suggestion regarding UM made Tikkas. Can you offer a switch lug type system like the WTO? Or if I have you build one, include that as an option? Being able to swap a barrel and bolt rather than buying two rifles would be sweet.

They torque their barrels to 100ft lbs. I don’t see them making anything that is held by hand tight and a set screw.I know you don't want questions, so this is more of a suggestion regarding UM made Tikkas. This guys may have things figured out in regards to the drop test validity in his talks with some industry experts. Anyone care to spend 20 minutes of their time to give this a listen then give your thoughts? Skip ahead to 38 minutes and listen to about minute 55. @Ryan Avery @Formidilosus what do you guys say? Get him on the podcast then let’s get this “significant wager” on video??
-If this is the wrong place for this I’ll gladly move it.
Sounds like he wants to go shooting with you.I DMed him on IG and asked if he would come to see the drop test in person.
People cherry-pick the info. They always miss the drive-around test. I guess I have to re-zero every damn day?
I think it is because it talks about AI and how they dropped and kicked them around and that was cool but dropping scopes isn’tSkip to 45-46 minutes. 38-46 isn't relevant to the drop test discussion.
Just shoot a rock i guessI guess I have to check zero every damn day?
Hard to take that guy seriously when he says he has seen scopes fail and the later says scopes don’t lose zero it is due to poor fundamentals of the shooter.MDS Episode #0112 - Caylen Unplugged #1

I hope he comes and finds out the truth, invite his leupold optics buddy too!I DMed him on IG and asked if he would come to see the drop test in person.

This guy lost all credibility with me when he said that you only miss because you don't how to shoot your firearm. Scopes go bad. Stocks have issues. Wondering zeros are a real thing.MDS Episode #0112 - Caylen Unplugged #1

Well there’s no reason not to, shooting suppressed doesn’t scare animalsI DMed him on IG and asked if he would come to see the drop test in person.

How does one re-zero off of a rock after you find out your off?Well there’s no reason not to, shooting suppressed doesn’t scare animals
I had a listen while working so must have missed something, what was the point?MDS Episode #0112 - Caylen Unplugged #1

There are too many variables in play to make the drop evaluation valid, and scopes are not manufactured to with stand side impacts. I think was his point.I had a listen while working so must have missed something, what was the point?
Wouldn't it put this MDS guy in his place if we eliminate the variables? If UM, SRS or someone would machine a jig that replicated an average rifle and took variables out like action screws and the scope mounts he mentioned, validity would become more indisputable. Obviously there would be scope mounts but something bomber and an integral part of the jig. Next, we could take the drops to a more consistent level by adding a platform that duplicates the drop consistently every time. The same would apply to riding around in the same vehicle at the same temperature or whatever makes it consistent. Finally, the scope tracking and zero retention would be measured on a collimator while still in the jig taking the shooter and ammunition out of the equation such as the Nightforce version seen here. What would their argument be then? There are too many variables in play to make the drop evaluation valid, and scopes are not manufactured to with stand side impacts. I think was his point.
This is a fantastic opportunity to have a third party participate in an evaluation. Perhaps his gun-writer industry expert could join as a fourth party. Bring scopes and ammo and see what happens. More data the better.
