My buddy’s kid (26) has a Roth through Fidelity. He’s got 8k in it and he wants to know where to put it.

Ideas? VOO?

VOO or VTI would be fine.

Also interested in other answers. My daughter just graduated college and is about to open ROTH and begin her investing journey as well. I'm a novice, this thread has been very insightful

I would add a dash of VGT and SMH to that pie.

At 26, if he is planning to follow standard timelines, he could be more aggressive than VOO.

I would suggest spreading it out a little. Put some in VOO, VGT, and VTI.

I am a big fan of VOO though. It’s my largest holding.

VOO is a good, very low expense fund. (.03%).
