The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

I like seeing your Technical stuff BBob.....A few days ago I made a mental note to watch that 6100 S&P level you mentioned- nope, never got there and instead went of a tear that could be the best 2 market days for me in awhile.

The guys that bought stuff last Friday are sure happy.

Any pre IPO VCX holders? I started investing in Fundrise in 2020 very tiny amounts. I have 76 VCX shares at a $15 cost basis. They are locked up until September. Really wish I had bought 10k unrestricted when I had the chance but I am not a gambler or a trader, just an investor. I plan to hold VCX long. I read a little of the above. Sorry for anyone got burned by the hype/speculation; you are not alone. Always winners and losers...which is why I don't trade, to risk (and tax) averse.

On a side note, I started dumping CVX and XOM to lock in some solid profits. Once Trump TACO's and prices normalize, I will buy back into these quality companies later this year. Anyone else doing the same on Oil?

Basically the same. I held long (ish) and recently took profits. I'll monitor and repeat at some point. Kind of a stress reliever and a vacation of sorts after the sale and pocketing the profit :)

That is why I asked LFC911 what if it doesn't...Lots of people have missed out on the last two days of gains.

Yeah, this administration doesn't want the market to tank anytime soon. The back and forth, up and down, day to day statements are for sure leveraging things :)

Yeah that doesn’t build much confidence for me. Oil started going up after the speech. Crypto fell also, I personally would expect that tomorrow, but the roller coaster will continue ha

True, Trump made that obvious from day one. IME, every admin has their quirks and there is money to be made if you pay attention to those.

Frankly, thats why I bought that BTU [I mentioned that trade here, now I'm out] right around when Trump took office. The past admin took coal out and shot them....and was leaving them to die. This admin wasn't going to let that happen. China still uses coal for over 1/2 of their power generation and we need it to make steel.
I'm not talking up coal here, its had a good run, just using it as an example.

I think the defense sector play still has room to run. I still think we will get a mini recession when the results of this war finally hit....but it will also have the Trump Put under it so it might not dip much.

Monday, I did a little rotation in my stuff and into more data center stuff. On the next pause I will buy a little more.

No. VCX is way too risky for me. I snapped this screenshot a few days back. No one knows - the fund could be here again in no time???

Unbelievable…Good luck 🍀 and happy hunting to all, TheGrayRider a/k/a Tom.

@TheGrayRider yeah 100% I would not get in now. I have been accruing shares since 2022 at around $15 bucks average, so even at the current levels I have made a healthy profit. It seems the pricing is stabilizing between $100-$120, I hope it holds those levels. Seeing those prices was tough to swallow as I had a chance to get $10k worth of unrestricted shares at $19/per share. Selling at those levels would have been life changing for me. Oh well live and learn

I'm scratching my head here...Novo Nordisk sure looks cheap. Is there something I'm missing?

Yeah it s a brutal race with Lilly on the weight loss drugs....and Lilly's pill looks like it might have less side effects....but the effectiveness depends on who you listen to- seems pretty neck and neck.

The current admin is proposing insurance companies pay for the drug...not sure how that will materialize but it's a big paycheck to both companies with the Insurance companies taking it on the chin.

NVO- pays a 4.9% dividend with a PE of 10 [Cheap]
LLY- pays less than 1% div and has a 40 PE [Expensive]
EPS is looking pretty good for both- splitting the +/- $5B pill estimate

My guess is both will do well for the next few years.

You all know my mantra- "But, Would you buy it now?" I'm going to buy some more NVO though it doesn't look like I need to hurry, both stocks out of favor and under selling pressure.

Speaking of buying it now.....

[From Google Gemini] As of April 2026, the S&P 500 trailing P/E ratio is roughly
27–28x, significantly higher than the long-term historical mean of approximately 16x to 20x. The current market valuation indicates investors are paying a premium for earnings, with recent data showing a 5-year average P/E interval of [19.77, 26.16].

A quick double check of that^ and it seems to be accurate

NVDA with EPS growth of over 100%, a profit margin of 55% is at a 36PE, and forward PE of 21.

That sure looks cheap here considering they are making money hand over fist. I see articles stating they will be at $100 soon. I can see Chat GPT going under and NVDA taking a little hit...but my god those are monster earning numbers. Are data centers just going to go away when data doubles every year?
