The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

part of the issue is I have to pull the funds out of my brokerage account that is in ETF's. I figured once it lands in the IRA i can allocate to the different funds.

reread your post, so maybe I can set it in the IRA and sit on it until the market flattens?
At Schwab you should be able to move the ETFs directly without cashing out.
You are still gonna owe on gains though
Should be an instantaneous transaction either way

I still think that Data center space has plenty of room to run...but CRWV is not my favorite in that space. NVDA has grown their earning to where it's a decent PE now.....not a bad buy in price. This is why I like those companies with a huge profit margin, they grow into high valuations quick. I think the rumors of NVDA chips being replaced by something else is overblown- at least in the near term. They seem to be allocating capital well, unlike other big profit companies like META.

Personally, I have a lot of exposure to that data center sector due to those stocks growing like a weed- thats a good thing but I don't want to buy more now.

I did buy more BX- a pretty good chunk actually .......and a little more NVO to dollar cost avg lower in that one. I don't think the pro's have figured out NVO will still make a big profit on their stuff.

BX is the cream of that private equity crop- smartest folks in the room. Their assets are less affected than the smaller players. They have had an incredible return on assets in the last decade and are still raising capital when others are slowing. It's at $113 and Morningstar has their fair value at $178. Their assets are in good sectors with good returns. I think it's a rare no brainer at this price.
I've been adding BX around $110

Whipsaw day....hopefully no one sold yesterday....

One thing of note on these markets;
NVDA was not down all that much yesterday showing strength in a bad market. I think that bodes well for the stock going forward.

I restructured my investment strategy a little bit on my Robinhood account. I am DCA'ing every Friday into the following four tickers. VUG, VXUS, SCHD & ITA.

I have enough cash reserve to do this for 1 year. I also have some QBTS that I got in on really early and some MSFT that I am just being patient with. Ideally, I will take profits from QBTS and MSFT over the coming year to keep my cash reserve full enough to continue my weekly purchases going for my ETF's past one year. Hopefully this keeps me diversified enough for the uncertain future and I capitalize on any dips.

SCHD has had a great YTD start, for whatever reason. I have it and for whatever reason it has picked up a lot lately.

ITA is expensive (0.38% exp ratio) and P/E sitting at 41 (S&P 500 is at ~27 right now).

I take it you are extremely bullish on the defense sector?

I think adding some VXUS is great. International exposure is almost always the right play long term. US dominance is not gaurunteed.

I am bullish on the defense sector, however, out of the 4 ETF's, that one is my lowest contribution each week.

I’ve gone to a similar approach, but not with weekly investing. I have about 10% in MSFT and AMZN. The remaining 90% is a 60/20/20 split of VTI/VEA/VEXC. That gives me decent diversification with some low cost ETFs. Some might say that I’m crazy to exclude China, but we are supposed to invest in what we believe in… 🤷‍♂️
