The Rokslide Stock Traders Thread

Some good info in this article about the recent Echostar/SpaceX deal. https://www.lightreading.com/satell...apes-the-u-s-wireless-and-satellite-landscape

Some key takeaways. Echostar was paid $8.5 billion cash and an equivalent amount in SpaceX stock. This makes them a pretty significant SpaceX investor at this point. If I’ve done my math right. They are currently valued at $23 billion, so they are essentially 1/3 SpaceX stock. Possibly a good way to get exposure to SpaceX stock.
Anyone act on this back in September? It has proved to be a very good play, about to get allot better…

The fact that Echostar has essentially become a private equity firm with a massive exposure to SpaceX stock.

Another was Neptune Digital.

Lots of talk about Ai data centers in space. I’m not smart enough to understand it but google ceo has mentioned it multiple times and space x seems to be the front runner.

AI data centers need lots of power for compute and even more power for cooling, as that generates allot of heat. Space fixes your cooling problem and your power problem, as solar panels are ~8x more efficient in space. There’s other reasons, but those are the two main ones.

But, sending stuff to space is very expensive. Elon must think this all pencils out using reduced launch cost of Starship/super heavy booster though.
