Iran is saber rattling and its affecting oil prices at close of market.....

Averaged around 12 per cent return today on my stocks ( a few over 30 and a couple negative) in a neutral and volatile market. You don't get many days like this. Thanks for those with tips on here.

I picked up 2000 shares of CDEV two days ago. I’m letting it sit for now to see how it continues to climb. Did pretty well the past 2 days.

You know there are people on this forum, and others, that have been saying that since March 20-ish. All the while, it just continues to climb out of the hole. Many of us have made a substantial amount of money. Thankfully not listening to this “wait advice”. Can it go lower again? Maybe, but I don’t see it getting back down past 20K. What people won’t accept is that the market just isn’t reacting to this virus bullshit/shutdown the way they think it should. Rather than trying to fight it and figure it out, just play smart and enjoy the ride.


Or just keep waiting.

Once in a lifetime opportunities going on for long term investing and that isn't hyperbole.
Sitting on the sidelines doesn't seem the way to go to make real money....but I'm a novice, what do I know.

The day trading is for fun, the real play is setting up for long term. It's takes time, effort and investment capital.

This thread has been great. I’ve never been a stock guy, only mutual funds, but you guys have peaked my interest. I can see this day trading as a replacement for my love of sports gambling.
My problem the last few days is I keep missing my buy price. Yesterday I missed CDEV BY 2ths of a cent. Today by half a cent. I’m sure I’ll get in at some point. Not worried, this is only fun money right now.
I guess my bigger question, which I’m sure can’t be answered on here, is I have to figure out how to find these companies. You guys make some great finds. Well thanks all for sharing. I’ll keep learning and plugging along.

Pretty much. That's the name of the game with investments - coulda, woulda, shoulda or did. No other options.

Hoping real estate goes down - that's what I'd really like to see out of this - stuffing some extra under the mattress in hopes of a 25%+ reduction of vacant land real estate prices. The longer this lasts and the harder folks get hit, the more likely it'll happen.

I do believe oil will go negative again this month. I’ve been reading a bit today, so I may take a few oil profits, see what happens middle of May.

So you think a bottom was already "in" back in March?

My neighbor is the treasurer of a fortune 500 company....I also talk to 1-2 investment strategists/economists per week as a part of my job...and I also know a couple of people who have been in the game since the late 80s......every single one of them thinks we have some tough sledding ahead.....none of them thinks we have seen the bottom. That is hard for me to ignore.

That is hard for me to ignore.

If we haven't hit the bottom yet, then I'm really worried for our economy/way of life. I don't know if we can recover from another "bottom" as low as we had already. And if I thought we had a lower bottom coming, then I probably wouldn't have much faith in the market anyways.

I know. picked up another 20 k shares CDEV on the low yesterday. pre market up over 30 per cent already.

Bought 10 k shares AXAS yesterday at .15 pre market up over 100 per cent this morning. and 10 k shares of FET and FTSI yesterday on their lows.

Another interesting day. we'll see

No way to tell. The hot oil stocks have been starting of hot pre market and first few hours and settle down ( drop mid day) the past week. Who knows in this market?

I rarely buy pre market and post market but can find deals. Im personally waiting on CDEV to cool down today with a limit order set in placed to pick up more. But Who knows? Its a casino now.

How do you execute your exit plan? Do you just set up limit sell order at some amount below current price that still leaves you satisfied?
