Picked up a few thousand more CDEV yesterday at around .34 and added to NUGT, UNG and JNUG yesterday. Pretty good day.

I did pick up some USO and violated a common rule of not researching the company enough before purchasing it not calculating the high fees associated with purchase. I can sit on it but down obviously today and trading stopped. Should have waited. PATIENCE grasshopper

Anyway Live and learn!

USO actually tracks the front-month oil futures contract, not the spot price of oil. The prices for spot oil and USO have been reasonably close in the past, until the market imploded.

I was close to buying some a few days ago thinking I was jumping in on a good deal, until I read this...now I'm steering clear of USO, at least for the foreseeable future.

I had CDEV that I bought last week for $0.27. I sold it today for $0.37 thinking it was going to drop. I made some and lost some. Too chicken to ride it out

I bought a 1000 shares last week .30 and am kicking myself for not buying more. It was on my watch list for past month. I know that quite a few big name investors like it. Its one of the those cheaper stocks you can gamble on and not lose a lot of money.

I recommend ‘How to make money in stocks’ by William (Bill) O’Neill, he wrote several, your local library probably has a copy. It really opened my eyes in what to look for in a stock’s behavior. It uses technical analysis (trends/patterns) rather than number crunching P/E ratios and such. To me it was a much more interesting way to look at stocks because it focuses on price action. First, learn to read a candlestick chart.

Thanks, yes I can see that. Personal I have no problem spending $$$ we only live once and we need to enjoy what hobbies a individual might have. Hunting, trapping and just being out in nowhere Nevada is what puts me and my family at peace!

USO issues K-1’s. Educate yourself about holding through month end!! You won’t want to! Total sham/scam stock. Stay away, there are many other ETF’s that one could use to get oil exposure.
