The one RA (RS95?) I have owned was a 300 blackout ranch. Super fun with the can on but I got lots of light primer strikes. The answer I got from Ruger was that 300 blackout factory ammo is loaded with harder primers to prevent slam fires in ARs, and that Ruger bolt gun firing pins are only sprung for use with standard primers.

It seemed to me that if a rifle says "300 Blackout" on the barrel, it should be designed to fire 300 Blackout factory ammo, right?

I mostly had problems with Aguila and StealTH ammo, and I think Hornady and Winchester fired 100%. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced light strikes with their RS95?

I'm extremely tempted to try a Gen2 in 300bo.
The 300bo is the one that Iā€™d be interested in for shooting subs suppressed to take care of critters in my yard that borders city limits and a neighborhood. How accurate was it with subs?

Mine is still about 1 MOA. With subs. Drop starts to drastically change though obviously.

I never shot it for groups, more just plinked around and giggled about how quiet it was.

I know,I knowā€¦..this ainā€™t the right forum for this type gun, BUT I have a new GEN 2 that Iā€™ve set up for Silhouette practice at 200-300 yards. 223that I added a muzzle weight and a buttstock weight that brings the total weight to 8lbs, 12 oz.. I installed the ā€œ HIGHā€ cheek piece and single feed insert that I ordered from Ruger. After adding a MCARBO spring, the trigger went from 4 1/2 lbs to a pretty good 2 1/2 lbs.I havenā€™t shot it yet but as soon as I do, Iā€™ll post some results.should be a VERY fun gun. The GEN 2 is definitely better than the GEN 1. Very smooth action. I have been really cycling the action and it is so smooth.

That's pretty cool. I haven't ever competed in silhouettes but it's always looked interesting. What is the purpose of mounting the scope so high?

For a more head erect relaxed fitment. Everybody is different and some folks like a lower scope.

I snagged an American Ranch 223 right after they came out. Wanted to see what this long range stuff was all about.

Dropped it in a Boyd's, home brew trigger job and some sitka knee pads for a cheek riser because I'm fancy:cool: Its a single shot because the rotary mags are garbage. I need to convert it over to AICS but have a hard time spending anymore money on this thing.

Have lobbed a lot of 75gr Amax's across a canyon with this thing, and learned alot while doing so. Its more accurate than it should be, but I doubt if I will ever buy another one.

Ruger American Predator in 6.5CM. I threw it in a Magpul hunter chassis. Its a little bit heavier than I would like (12 pounds with the suppressor and scope) but it isnā€™t my mountain gun, itā€™s a ā€œwalk a mile or less into the woods and sit downā€ gun. Which it will be great for. Photo from beginning of December when I was out coyote hunting (no luck). Dad is a vortex dealer so I threw a cheap diamondback tactical on it. Honestly, no complaints at all with the scope thus far.

Shoots like a dream. Iā€™ve only put cheap target loads (not match ammo or anything close) in it and it shoots around 1 MOA. No problem going 20/20 hitting 5ā€ plates at 300 yards from a bench, good enough for me.

I really wanted to shoot a deer with it this year, but I had three rifles I really wanted to draw blood with this year. It ended up not making the cut.
