The Rokslide 95 (Ruger American 😁)

I converted my Ranch from mini 30 mags to AR style mags, partly because Mini30 10 rounders suck and secondly to try a DuraMag flushfit 6.5 Grendel if it ever becomes available.

I still don’t understand why that is called flush fit.

Marketing? It more flush but not all the way flush. That being said, it does carry much better in the hand and while slung on my shoulder. There is a YouTube tutorial on modifying a metal ar magazine to make it even more flush if necessary.

Do you have a link for the video? Thanks.

Shot my 7.62 a little this evening to check scope swap. Changed scope to a Bushnell Elite 4500 1-4x24 a couple weeks ago and wanted to see what it was doing at 160 yards IMG_8397.jpeg(as far as I can stretch it at my home range). It will definitely hunt!

It was 308 day this evening!! I probably will never buy another barrel shorter than 20ā€ again without intentions of a can in a high intensity cartridge but it sure does handle great! It shoots 150gr Hornady Am Whitetail around an inch at 100 and 1.5ā€ group at 160 yards. I mostly shoot steel after I get the scope set from different field positions and the bipod thing is pretty new to me.

How well does the 223 feed from the flush-fit Duramag?
Like butter! I bought two and they honestly feed better than any other mag I have tried. I bought my neighbor one for a 350 legend as well but he isn’t a rifle crank so hasn’t tried it yet. I want a couple really bad for the 6.5 Grendel to try in 7.62x39. It was a huge factor in my changing the Mini 30 to AR style mags.

Here's my gen 1 7.62x39 Ranch. The gun has always impressed me with whatever ammo I feed it. Often shooting around 1". In preparation for youth deer hunting, I swapped the red dot I had on for an old bushnell trophy I've had around. I also made a kydex cheek riser and installed a linear compensator to cut down the blast a bit from the 16" barrel.

Great fun rifle to shoot. I'm hoping to add a gen 2 in either 5.56 or 223 and maybe add my first suppressor. Has anyone used the 223 chambered ones with 5.56? Any pressure signs?

I’ve been eyeing this since it dropped… good feedback from you so far? I think the aesthetics are great compared to other options
Killed some stuff since, and really like the MDT...

My son (now 10 years old) has racked up 4 deer in three years with his, topped with a 3-9x40 Leupold VX-Freedom CDS. Shots have ranged from 80 to 430 yards.
Follow up from this…..I decided to throw a suppressor on it this year for my daughter to shoot. After getting a few baffle strikes, I sent the rifle to Thunderbeast where they confirmed the alignment was way off. They got it down to .004ā€ runout, but nothing like spending $300 (with round-trip shipping) to fix a $400 gun. šŸ˜‚ After I got it back, this is a 15-shot group at 100 yards with factory 143 ELD-X. Not sure what happened with the two ā€œfliersā€ (probably me).
