I want to see the study OP reference that states foul mouth bozo's are more intelligent than those that are not. 65 years of living tells me otherwise.

For sure, if either of those guys worked for me with that kind of mouth they wouldn't last very long. I can't believe one of them is a customer facing figure representing an otherwise good company. Not with any company I managed. That guy is Walmart material.
You are here posting on my website, so I guess you are working for me. HAHA!

note what this actually says: if you know more vulgar words rather than less vulgar words, you may know more words in other categories as well. That is something completely different than if you use vulgarity or not. I can probably list more vulgar words than most guys that use them.

My wife is also a counselor in a region that is really rural in a bad educational way and really depressed. She absolutely affirms that vulgarity is useful to a lot of those people in expressing emotion. But she also notes that it is because they have been badly stunted in emotional maturation and vulgarity is all they have. So, for their level of development and given the emotional tools they have, vulgarity helps them express emotion. Great. Truly, I'm glad they have a way to express emotion somehow.
This does not mean that vulgarity is a better emotional conduit than being more articulate, or just using non-vulgar words. Vulgarity is better than nothing, but I have worked with dozens of people for whom their constant use of vulgarity kept them form offering a clearer, more constructive, and more complete expression of emotion to their partners or teenage kids- and they had to grow beyond the vulgarity to do it.

Sorry guys, I'm a social scientist by training, and this is some bad science being touted here. It feels like any caliber to hand will do.

I know what you are doing. you're trying to get me to say the shorter version of "adult male cow feces" and paint me a hypocrite. I'm onto you bros.

The S2H podcast is 20% great information, surrounded by 80% profanity and crude humor. I listen to it sparingly - picking episodes that I care enough about the topic to put up with it. When I do listen to it, it’s at 1.5x speed. When I hear something salient, I replay it, then move on. They can do what they want… it’s their podcast.

I’m currently working on my masters in Nursing. I write long papers all the time about some dumb stuff.

If I was asked to write 13 pages about using less profanity, i would just quit. I couldn’t write 13 sentences on that. And I once wrote a 30 page paper on how to effectively write a paper.

Oh the dumb things we write in nursing education. For ones that were particularly mind numbing, I found “write drunk, edit sober” to work ok. Masters thesis? Write drunk, submit the damn thing. I eventually figured out that no one was reading anything for content anyway, just running it through checking APA and complaining that I clearly hadn’t bought, read, or gave 2 chits about the latest edition.

So I tried to make something that could serve him and others. It only took me a couple hours- like it would take a lot of you a couple hours to do a brake job, and me 2 days.

I find that "conservative" arguments are always more complicated than progressive, libertarian or libertine arguments, and so they take longer to formulate and clarify. Maybe I'll do a 6th grade reding level AI version that is no more than 3 pages, and see if you like that- we could even do it in Grok unhinged. That would have some irony. 13 pages is nothing when clarifying complex moral questions.
My dude, I draft arguments and briefs for a living. My average day is filled with drafting pages and pages of persuasive argument on dense technical gobbledygook. Lengthy writing is rarely indicative of good quality. Writing something well that is cogent in 3 pages takes far longer than to spew out 13 pages of convoluted drek.
thanks Jonny cake. I also did that today. And repaired something mechanical. And spent time with my family. Put away the dive gear from scalloping in FL last week. But to quote Jake and Ryan, I didn't "just go f____ing hunting." Stupid August.
That's good to hear. Do more of that.
