The Raven: Unknown Munitions Tikka Clone action coming soon?

Will the Raven pass the Backfire sand test?

Just the fact that it'll have the dust cover puts it light-years ahead of things without them. My bigger concern for water/frost/sand would be how easy it can get into the triggers the Ravens will use.

Anyone know if Tikka did anything in particular with their trigger design or placement to help with that?

Trigger is a hangup for me. I’ve used a variety of aftermarket triggers in other platforms and didn’t like any of them as much as the factory tikka trigger.

So use a factory trigger?

Right now several options are being perused.

Of course that’s the clear answer, “hang up” was a bad choice of words. That was more to the point of ”what does it offer for x amount over a tikka action” part of the conversation.

Is there a reason the tikka trigger can’t just be copied too?

I have no intel at all but Unknown Munitions seems to have an aftermarket option for everything else Tikka that you need from action, stock, rings, scope, ammo, accessories, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they start to supply their own aftermarket triggers and barrels too.

I’d be way more interested in durability and safety testing of the existing tikka triggers.

Sand, silt, snow, ice, moondust, and mud.
Slam fire testing.
Drop testing.

Knowing where the mechanical limits are for the current options would inform a lot of decisions.

I’ve used the KRG Midas and stock tikka triggers. No concerns from my limited use of the KRG.
But would be very curious how the Bix, Timney, and TT hold up.

If somebody could get a test post started, that would be a pretty popular thread for the off season.
