The Raven: Unknown Munitions Tikka Clone action coming soon?

Someone that attended the show said $1200 was what was said...
$999 works if you’re considering a full build off a Tikka. $1200 makes you want to consider an actual Tikka and see how the barrel shoots.

Looks like the most functional upgrade would be the integral pic rail. Take one failure point out of the equation.

I’d say integrate the recoil lug as well but that’ll add more cost.

They can't integrate the recoil lug, otherwise it won't be compatible with all Tikka stocks and chassis.

An integrated recoil lug also isn't necessarily an upgrade.

I have often wondered about this. If you are building a Tikka type action, why couldn’t a recoil lug be machined in that duplicates the size and position of that part of the regular Tikka lug that protrudes from the action when properly seated?

One was set up barreled on a rock stock lite with I think a trigger tech. It was nice. Several others were sitting around to fiddle with too.

Sounded like August/September, but better ask @Procision Arms . Orders for full Corrax builds appear to be the only way to get in line for one presently.
We’re currently doing durability testing, once that’s complete, they’ll be released. As we get closer, there will be more updates.

What would it take to create a scaled down version, correctly sized to fit 2.6 max coal? Nobody in the industry is willing to make a micro action….?? The market is overflowing with custom actions and not one mini repeater. Make it make sense. Because there are no stocks and mags? If you build it they will come
It’s been discussed at length, but the biggest hurdle is exactly what you describe.

A lack of available stocks and magazines really affects the ability to make a receiver, especially one a fair price point.

That’s not to say it won’t be done…

My XLR Element 4.0mg and HNT26 chassis both have recoil lugs that I don't believe are easily removable. If the recoil lug pocket on the stock is off slightly, then they won't fit up. And if it is oversized/over-toleranced, then you might not get proper contact between the lug and the stock.

A Howa mini has magazines and stocks... Or you could use AR15-sized magazines if you can figure out the bottom metal.

I'd love an UL, custom-quality mini action with a Tikka or Rem700 trigger that I can run a Jefferson Outdoors box mag in an UL stock...

Has anyone asked if the XLR or MDT lugs are removable?

If the stocks/chassis have the recoil lug permanently built in then it’s a no go for full aftermarket compatibility reasons. If they’re not built in then it SHOULD be alright or else you probably wouldn’t get things to fit now.

The likely reason it was always separate was for cost purposes. Just like how the Remington action has a recoil lug sandwiched between the action and barrel. Instead of integrated.

Probably not worth doing in case some stock or chassis builds the recoil lug into it permanently.

An integrated lug was discussed at length and ultimately decided against, for those reasons. You lose a lot of aftermarket stock/chassis compatibility with an integrated lug vs the 2 piece.

So, give me the sales pitch…why should you buy a Tikka clone over a REM clone?

It would be more appropriate to ask why would anyone buy a R700 clone? There is nothing that is objectively better about an R700 than a Tikka or a Win M70 or several other actions. The only thing an R700 has going for it is parts availability, and it has a lot of major downsides.
