The Raven: Unknown Munitions Tikka Clone action coming soon?

With an integrated pic rail to easily and quickly remove your scope, it’s about a 5 minute job to put the barrel in a barrel vise and use an action wrench to change out barrels. Super easy.

I’m curious why the scope would need to be taken off. I guess that’s using an outside action wrench?

Barrel vice clamps the tennon, scope overhangs the tennon.

I use a Viper Sporter and it’s less than 5 minutes without taking the scope off. I do it all the time at the range with an inside action wrench. I am going to start adding wrench flats to make them faster for sure.

I can pull a scope rail, factory barrel and install a new barrel in 5 minutes. It takes longer cause I have to deal with the outside action wrench for the factory barrel.

I havnt seen the Sporter top for the Viper. That’s sweet. Allows you to grip a Tikka factory Sporter barrel and not have to remove the scope to get to the tenon.

I use a Viper Sporter and it’s less than 5 minutes without taking the scope off.

I use a MechForce, which also can be tighten to the skinniest area of a Tikka Lite barrel.

Exactly.

And, I used it in combination with the regular vice to break off factory barrels off the Tikka and Howa. Now I have the SAC vice for factory barrels.

I also just got the Buffalo Creek barrel version which is all steel with an aluminum insert.

There’s none that have been produced so far as I’m aware atleast. I’m pretty sure Jake woulda showed me when I was there last month.

That's exactly why i'm struggling with the whole thesis of the Raven roll out. Forgive me if I've misunderstood things but my understanding is that UM is currently accepting Korax/Raven orders. Concurrently, it doesn't appear that they have a single functionable unit in the field for testing yet given the crickets regarding @B_Reynolds_AK's question above.

While intentional or not, a significant portion of their target customer base will be comprised of existing Tikka users, and/or those who know the benefits of the Tikka action, the primary benefit being undeniable superiority in regard to durability/reliability. The same people who are on the record of citing a switch to Tikka given the superior durability/reliability, are now seemingly lining up for an action that has yet to be even tested. A Tikka clone does not make it a Tikka. Again, I may be completely offbase here and apologies if so.

Seems like reasonable thoughts/questions, looking forward to hearing more about this action.
