The Raven: Unknown Munitions Tikka Clone action coming soon?

Thanks. Follow-up question: couldn't that be treated as optional? Like, couldn't a person just take the barrel to torque if they wanted to commit to a certain level of repeatability with a given barrel?

Yes.
On the Terminus, I personally have two of the QC Zeus actions, one for PRS and one for hunting. I have not seen any zero shifts with these two rifles. I just have been wringing the barrel to the action, and hit the set screws with the fix it stick and it has performed well. I too was skeptical on these, and if it didn’t work, I still have a great action with a normally torqued barrel. I do think if you had a barrel that had a shoulder and tenon that was not machined as good as it should have been, you may see some problems with zero shifts.

With an integrated pic rail to easily and quickly remove your scope, it’s about a 5 minute job to put the barrel in a barrel vise and use an action wrench to change out barrels. Super easy.

I’m curious why the scope would need to be taken off. I guess that’s using an outside action wrench?

I use a Viper Sporter and it’s less than 5 minutes without taking the scope off. I do it all the time at the range with an inside action wrench. I am going to start adding wrench flats to make them faster for sure.

I can pull a scope rail, factory barrel and install a new barrel in 5 minutes. It takes longer cause I have to deal with the outside action wrench for the factory barrel.
I havnt seen the Sporter top for the Viper. That’s sweet. Allows you to grip a Tikka factory Sporter barrel and not have to remove the scope to get to the tenon.

Exactly.

And, I used it in combination with the regular vice to break off factory barrels off the Tikka and Howa. Now I have the SAC vice for factory barrels.

I also just got the Buffalo Creek barrel version which is all steel with an aluminum insert.

Given the forecast for general availability approaching, I’m guessing these have been getting heavily tested and abused by the UM crew in the field this fall. Can any of y’all that have been doing the product testing on the Raven chime in and provide thoughts so far?

There’s none that have been produced so far as I’m aware atleast. I’m pretty sure Jake woulda showed me when I was there last month.
