The Kifaru Argali, Markhor and Tahr

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but is the top opening on the Argali large enough to fit a boned out elk quarter without having to try and stuff the heck out of it?? The pack I have is a tight fit and am looking for a long term investment as we plan to move to the Denver area after I graduate. Looking for a 7+ day hunting pack and am torn between the Argali and the T1, but like the weight and price of the Argali.

I use the TAG BOMB bags and have a Markhor. The circumference of the bag is plenty big enough. With the Argali being larger yet, it will be fine.

No, but you can request it and it will be added.

It works ok on the Markhor, but it doesn't have as big of a collar as the Argali, so keep that in mind.

My reservations are having only top access and the lack of organization. ...these being the reasons it's so light yet so big.

I know the measurements on the site are similar but in Arons video the Argali looks way bigger. Now that you have both do you think 1.) The Tahr is plenty big enough? or 2.) They are so similar just go with the Argali, or 3.) I'm glad I have both bags?

For what it's worth, I kept the tahr, sold the argali, and bought an AMR.

"Plenty big enough" is a very difficult stat since it will vary on what YOU need to carry for your trip.

I know we've talked about the AMR on a 22" frame before and you weren't a big fan of that configuration. Well, after returning a Tahr I'm back to wanting an AMR. I don't want to get rid of my 22" frame, the size is just too handy, but I am looking for a big bag. Do you have any pics of the AMR on your 22"? Right now I'm using the Cargo Panel + yard sale of all my crap, but always looking for a cleaner setup.

Could someone please post some pictures of the Tahr with a belt pocket and or a side pocket with the bag compressed. I have only seen pictures of these bags fully loaded. Most of the time that I will be using, it will be in day hunt mode and I'm concerned with the bag compressed the pockets won't be very useful? I really hope I'm thinking incorrectly! I'm looking to get the argali and have some attachment points sown on. Thanks!

the pockets are totally useful when its fully compressed. Medium and large belt pocket here.
