The Kifaru Argali, Markhor and Tahr

The Markor with Guide lid

I tested the shelf system with these packs, but prefer just sticking the meat in the bag on larger pack bags.

The Markor looks like a really versatile pack. Great light weight option for everything from day hunts, to multi day trips.

The guy on the right (Frank the tank ) is using a Markhor in this photo.

He's got a spotting scope pocket, guide lid and 3 medium belt pouches attached.

The Argali with Guide Lid, spotting scope pocket and 2 small side pockets attached to the bottom left and right side of the bag.

Is there anyway to run the spotting scope pocket as sort of a compression panel? I am thinking it would be nice with my camp bag that I run two compression straps around... if you could feed the straps through attachment points on the pocket. I just cant think how that is possible with the three bar sliders.

You could easily do this with a Large side pocket.

That is true thank you. Originally I thought the large would be a little big and sloppy. I didn't think the medium would fit my scope and tripod but I think it actually could fit it just right now that I look carefully at the specs. Razor HD 65 angled and summit ss tripod.... Hmmm? Anyone out there possibly know the answer to that?

I cant decide if I should give the medium a shot or just go with the large.... Can anyone out there give any sort of educated guess if a medium would work? Sorry this probably not the right thread for this.

The medium will fit fine, but you may not be able to zip it up depending on what tripod head you use.

The large will have zero issues, but it is big.

Is the Markhor able to fold the snow collar and create a lid like the Tahr and Argali?

Also, can you still run the guide lid if the bag is using the snow collar as a lid on any of the bags?

You can on the Markhor but it doesn't work as well.

The vertical compression straps would need to snap into the lid for the snow color. You can fold the snow collar down and then buckled the lid on top of it.

Love my High Camp and these look like the HC on steroids and diet at the simultaneously! I ran my HC much like these; with the additional third compression strap and the large side pocket on the back for my scope and a puffy.
This will fit me to a tee, the Markhor looks like my next pack.

Put in an order for the Markhor and the Hunting Platform frame and suspension. Really excited about the potential of this pack. Really like the weight savings over the T2 I had been previously running.

I received my new frame and Markhor yesterday. Really like the look of it so far.
That was quick...

For those who are interested, the new spotting scope pocket lines up perfectly on the actual frame itself. It hangs from the common loops and then the lower set of tri-glides also lines up with the "middle" common loops on the frame. Couple that with a guide lid and/or a grab-it and it's a very slick and light day pack.

How well do the side pockets work on the argali and markhor sides? What's the best way to run the straps around the pocket?
